Bric-à-brac
Not quite a blog, not quite a moodboard.
Here lie some things that have been inspiring me lately. To be archived & updated seasonally.
SPRING 2026

Music is one of my greatest inspirations for visual art. I spend a lot of time exploring different genres and scouring for new stuff. Here's what I've been enjoying:

From Ezra Jack Keats' 1974 children's book Dreams.
I found this illustration beautiful as a child and am still constantly thinking about it. I recently began collecting children's books because the best ones are true works of art.

Color Forms! These colorful shapes are burned in my memory from pre-K.
12/13th cent. poetry?! Don't mind if I do...
I read and prefer) this translation on p. 35.
The Ladies Man (1961) directed by and starring Jerry Lewis.
This film is totally absurd, surreal, funny, and well-crafted. Everything about this particular scene floored me.
I cannot overstate how much I LOVED Baz Luhrmann's EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert (which, btw, had a 4 person audience the first time I saw it).
Stunning archival footage (restored so well it looks like it was shot yesterday), crispy as hell remastered audio, and exciting editing that weaves seamlessly through time.
I could watch this Polk Salad Annie performance and edit over and over again forever. Wow.
